The Map Skills
Activity Package

The Map Skills book includes 38 activities and seven resource maps. The book is reusable or reproducible for individual classroom use.

The 38 activities systematically introduce skills for naming streets, reading map legends, following directions for the four points of the
compass, understanding topography, estimating distances, locating boundaries and naming states, and using a name-place index for
locating specific sites.

Presenting skills important to understanding maps, the seven resource maps include a treasure map, a lost gold mine map, a haunted
city map, a United States map, a topographic map, a name-place index map, and more.
