8 Read & Sing Along Songs provides a structure for reading instruction using music & song. The reading strategies can be adapted to all students. The book explains the program and how easily it can be used in classrooms.

The songs, similar to folk songs, are easy to listen to and fun to sing.  The repetition helps cement words into long term memory.  Once words are in long term memory, they can be accessed automatically and reading will become easier.

The songs are excellent for reading and language development.  Reading skills include consonants, consonant blends, consonant digraphs, and short and long vowels.  The song themes can be used for language development.  Student skill activities can be purchased separately.

The 8 songs are original songs.  They were written using high frequency sight words, important words, and skill words for grades 1 and 2.
